Neurobiologist researcher on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

836 1024 Need Institute

After evaluating the requests received (https://www.needinstitute.org/borse-di-ricerca/), the Need Institute Foundation announces the recent hiring of Dr. Silvia Bono in the position of postdoctoral neurobiologist researcher.

The three-year research grant is generously supported by the Slanciamoci Association of Milan, which thus launches and promotes a translational research study on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

Silvia Bono, graduated in Biology, completed her PhD in Biomedical Sciences in Florence, carrying out a study aimed at identifying the mechanisms responsible for the suppression of the BCR / Abl protein in Chronic Myeloid Leukemia cells under energy restriction conditions. Motivated by a passion for scientific research in the neurobiological field, she subsequently carried out studies in rare neurodegenerative diseases such as Charcot Marie Tooth 2A disease and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis at the Neural Stem Cell Laboratory at the University in Milan.

Dr. Silvia Bono, as a Need Institute researcher, will promote and follow a program of neurobiological studies on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis at the Neurobiology Laboratory for Translational Medicine, Department of Neurorehabilitation Sciences, Casa di Cura Policlinico (CCP) in Milan.
